PRELIMINARY TASK
For the preliminary tesk, the main focus was to uphold continuity whilst including match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule. The finished video for the preliminary task is shown below:
EVALUATING: When watching our work from an objective view, we can identify a range of positives and negatives to the video. We shot a good range of camera shots and angles, and experimenting with this has helped my group to establish which shots/angles we think work or do not work.
One issue with this video is the match on action. A long shot is used when Becky is walking down the corridor. However, when the shot cuts to the other side of the door, we tried to show a close up of the door handle. However the focus is on Becky moving through the door, and the framing shows a mid-section of her body which does not look right. As a result of this, we will take greater time considering match on action shots if they are to be used in our opening film.
We have also learnt to improve our time management. We arranged an hour filming period, however did not complete the task within this time and so had to refilm at a different time. Thus, we should have overstimated the length of time it would take us so we would not be caught off guard.
